Error registering OCX from Jet Runtime

SUF 6.0.0.4. Project has runtime Jet4SP3 installed as per instructions. Running into a fresh Win98SE installation as a test. Everytime the system tells me "Error registering OCX C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msjetoledb40.dll". Tried adding MDAC first to see if that helps. MDAC installs fine and after reboot JET4 install starts and then ends with the error message.

Turns out can't even find this DLL/OCX on my system. And when I manually run JET40SP3_COMP it still does not install/returns same error.

Anyone any ideas? Obviously this is MSFT's software but presume someone has had some success. I have never needed to install before as I had previously installed MDAC 2.5 on my development machines.

SOLVED! I had included the Crystal Reports 8.5 runtime that a user had posted to these forums sometime ago. That runtime includes MSVCRT.DLL (which is required for CR85 Automation) but my machine is running XP. When it installed onto a Win9x machine, it objected and created the original error.
So for anyone using this runtime, beware! I removed the file from the runtime and now all OK. Phew!
