  • Updating the environment after changing registry

I used SF611 to modify the registry, specifically, adding/changing some environment variables.

I would like to have those take effect without having to reboot.

I know there must be a way to update the environment of the current logged in user, after the environment has changed.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

I am setting Environment variables under NT/2000 using a command line utility from the NT ressource kit. This utility is called SETX.EXE.

This can be used to set system or user variables without the need to reboot.

    example: SETX variable value [-m]

[-m] is used if the variable is a system variable.
