Run file on reboot

Does this work? I use it with application name and arguments, so both fields filled in for two items. I only get the second one (I assume each one overwrites a previous one...), but when I look in the registry before rebooting the key is str<something> and the value is only the parameters I specified, not the executable.

Any clues? I.m using 6011.

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure what is happening; perhaps you could post exactly what you put in your Run on Reboot action, and what is contained in the registry.

File to run: %AppDir%\Launch.exe
Command line arguments: "%AppDir%\%ProductName%.exe"

Launch is just a little program which runs it argument, because often when launching programs through runonce or the scheduled tasks manager, for some reason windows locks until the launched process exits.

Anyway, if there are multiple run on reboots, only the last one survives, because the key in the registry is always called 'strSource'.

The value of the strSource key was the correct executable and commandline parameters for the second run-file-on-reboot.

Earlier in the day I did see it also contain just the command line parameters, but later on I couldn't reproduce that, so I'll leave that for now.

Obviously the whole problem has now been circumvented by explicitedly setting the registry values.

It still leaves the problem of not being able to set multiple run-on-reboot commands. Each entry gets the key name 'strSource' overwriting whatever was there before.

Thanks for the post, I guess I just missed that part. I have confirmed this bug and it has already been fixed. The fix will be available in the next version of Setup Factory.

I also have a problem on the Run file on reboot action. It still keeps the last posted one. Testing on Win98 Second Ed.
Version I use 6.0.1.2.
I thought it was fixed.
I´am trying to manipulate the registry to get this solved.
Any other ideas?
