  • SetupFactory loads project then shuts down?

Anybody having this problem where upon loading a project, the program immediately shuts down. I have tried loading a variety of ways w/ no success. Usually 5th or 6th time the project will stay open. Using latest patch (seem to start after this installation).

    near the same problem.
With SF6 in case of large number of files (>1500) when closing the project by opening another one with also more than a thousand of files, SF6 shutdown ?

What operating system are both of you using? When you open the project files, are you opening them from within the design environment, or double clicking the project file etc. Any additional information will be helpful. I have so far been unable to replicate the problem.

Re: SetupFactory loads project then shuts down?

I am running Win XP Prof (have not installed SP1 but am current w/ all previous updates).

Happens when I open last project, click new project then open from menu, or from explorer. Sometimes it will stay open on the 2nd or 3rd try. Tried to re-save after a "sucessful" open - to no avail. Hit or miss. Only have 125 files added tp project (vb6 project). Works fine once it stays open.

        thanks

What I would like you to try is the following:

Next time you have your project file open, try saving that project file under a different name. See if that solves your problem when trying to open it again.

Does this occur for this particular project file, or have you experienced this behavior with any previous project file?

What you should also try if the previous tests fail is making a copy of your project file and then removing segments of files from the list. For example remove half the files, see if it still occurs, then remove half the files again and see if it occurs. The problem may pin point to be a particular file in the project which is the goal of this test.
