Re: Install plugin to default browser
Darryl,
The "Read File Association" is not the best way to go to find the default browser. I found that after a lot of trial and error. The http subkey holds the correct value.
But my biggest problem is figuring out what plugins folder do AOL, Comcast, Compuserve and Earthlink use.

Re: Install plugin to default browser
Question 1) You can also use the "Read File Association" action to get the application associated to that file type which is essentially what you have done with your Registry Read.
Question 2) I'm sorry, I'm not aware of how other browsers work in this respect.

Install plugin to default browser
I am trying to create an installer that does two things:
1. Detect default browser - (I am using the hkey_classes_root/http/shell/open/command to detect the default browser)
2. I need to detect the plugins folder for that browser and copy a file into that fodler. IE, Netscape and Opera have the plugins folder within their program folders. But I am not sure that the other browser (AOLD, Compuserve, Comcast etc. etc.) do the same. Is there a way to detect the plugins folder for each browser.
Thanks.
