  • Uninstalling my application

I'm using SF 6.0, and have created an uninstall section within SF. It appears on the start folder. I have an occassion to want to initiate the uninstall procedure from within the application. On Windows XP, it seems that the actual pgm is called 'uninstall.exe'. On Win 98 and ME, there is 'iun6002.exe'. with a command line arg using an .ini file. Is the difference due to Microsoft changing how uninstalls are handled? Does SF have anything to do with this, other than placing the Uninstall Icon in the Start folder? How would I know which of the two forms (what about W95 and W2000?) I need to execute?

    Thanks, Steve

Yes, the uninstall procedure is exactly the same on every OS, that being calling the uninstall executable "iun6002.exe" and passing it the INI file as an argument. I'm a little confused as to where you are seeing this information. If you have Setup Factory create the shortcut for you, what does it say in the properties of that shortcut file?

I'm looking at the shortcut information. I have SF creating the unintall and putting the shortcut on the start menu. When I look at what the shortcut points to, it seems different on differnt Window versions.

Ok, so you're in the Programs group of the Start Menu, under your product folder, you go to the uninstall shortcut, right click and select Properties. Go to the Shortcut tab and what does it say in the Target field?
