Just an update, but we won't be able to go to beta until next week... We had a little delay this week with the blu-ray burning, skinning/theming and database integration - but hope to have that all finished by early next week.

Also - good news - we'll be opening the beta up to all registered customers.

Hey Mark, yes, I meant the update option from the help menu in AMS. But like Desmond said, you couldn't limit the scope any narrower than the set of registered users.

I like IP's idea where you guys put a link in our customer portal. And like Riz said, you know who the power users are so there's your scope for registered users and owners of AMS. You could even send emails with a link to the few that that you want testing based on that info instead of using the customer portal link.

I was replying to that sentence in your post and posting a suggestion if that line
would be the case eventually Perhaps I misunderstood you.

comon guys, IR already know who the power devs are and they want the most advanced users to run the beta, the users that know AMS inside and out and know every little aspect of its functionally

throwing out ideas on how the beta should be run is a waist of time/bandwidth/energy, im betting IR already have a list of users that will receive the golden message

i just hope im on that list

unless they decide to run a public beta, but either way, stop attracting there attention and let them finish the job, its friday tomorrow........i'll be expecting to get home from work at 4:00 and be beta testing by 4:30

    (a little presumptuous maybe, lol)

Anyhow, I can't wait Desmond, you've really made me curious now. Have you
got any idea when the first beta will be released? Tomorrow, this weekend,
next week? Don't let us wait, we can't take it anymore! Haha no, just kidding

That is one option -- downside to that would be, as Sakuya mentioned, we couldn't limit the scope of the beta.

Also, this suggestion would limit the beta to registered users only ...

    Hey Centauri Soldier,

I was just wondering what you meant when you used the term "AMS application update system"? Did you mean what is available via Help | Check For Update?

    mark.

Didn't think it was that open, as RizlaUK said something along the lines of "I hope I get into it again.".
