  • Add dependency 32 and 64 bit in same setup file?

    Dear all,

    I'm using Setup factory. V9.3.2.0.

Is it possible to add dependency for 32 bit and 64 bit in the same setup file?
At the time of installation, setup will check for windows OS bit first then install the corresponding dependencies.

    (or)

I have to create separate setup files for 32 bit and 64 bit?

    Please guide me.

    Thanks a lot,
    thenndral

Is this for a unified installer, which can deploy a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of your application? Or do you have a single application? What dependency are you installing?

      Hi UIrich,

      Thanks for your reply.

      Yes. single application.
I need to add msi45x64 and msi45x86 dependencies.

      Thanks a lot,

You could build two separate installers, one for 32-bit and another for 64-bit platforms. Or, you can edit the install scripts of the dependencies, adding a platform test at the beginning of the script. When the platform does not match, simply perform an Application.ExitScript().

          hello UIrich,

I don't know how to do add a platform test.
          can you provide any samples?

          thanks,
          thenndral.

You could use the "System.Is64BitOS()" action in Setup Factory as the platform test.
