SQL Server 2005 Express is designed for Windows Vista and older operating systems. It may work on newer operating systems - or not. For newer operating systems, more recent versions of SQL Server Express were published by Microsoft - SQL Server 2008 R2 Express, SQL Server 2012 Express, SQL Server 2014 Express and SQL Server 2016 Express.
If you absolutely need to install this software which is more than a decade old, you will need to modify the scripts by yourself, so they don't block the installation on newer versions of Windows than what the package was actually designed for.
