If your executable needs to be run as admin, the non-workaround approach would be manifesting it as such, asking for user elevation upon the start. Using the Windows compatibility method is used for applications which for some reason do not behave as they should, don't you agree?

Hi Ulrich,
Thank you for your reply, I understand that it is not an effective use of your time when you have to answer the same questions time after time.
The thing is that most users would expect the functionality as part of the shortcut, and not as a work around.
Best regards
John

Run as Administrator in shortcut
Hi There,
I want to install an executable that requires a shortcut with 'Run as Administrator' settings checked. (It is a webservice that interacts with IIS)
Is there a way to do this in Setup Factory 9?
PS. I'm not looking for a discussion on workarounds (like providing admin rights for the installation folder and so on).
Looking forward to a response,
JohnTags: None
