Installed date/time of files

I thought there was a control in the file properties that determined whether when a file is installed, it got its original datetime from what it was when the installer was created, rather than the datetime the install is being run. But I can't find that control, and it seems the latter is what is happening, which I mostly don't find desirable. Am I missing something? Thanks.

My apologies - what I was asking for (the datetime of installed file being unchanged from the datetimes of those files when the installer was built) is how it works anyways. Something that modifies some of those files as soon as our application runs was fooling me into thinking otherwise.
