  • Filter to see only files that are part of on Build Config

In our installer, there are a number of build configurations, and various files are part of various build configurations (one or more configs per file).

I can't find a successful way to use the Filter feature to see only the files that are included in one specified build config. Is there a way to do that (or some other way to restrict the displayed list of files to those included in one build config)?

    Please follow these steps:
    1. If you do not have visibility of the Build Configurations column yet in the file view, add it first, as this will help:

    2. I assume that you have at least two Build Configurations, I named them "Default" and "Demo Version":

    3. Now set up a filter for each Build Configuration. Here are my filters:

    4. Finally, apply the filter and only those files part of the selected configuration will be displayed.

Thanks Ulrich. I tried that and got no files. My guess would be because all files are part of multiple build configurations, so there is no file whose build configuration is just "Equal To" one value - the build configurations for various files INCLUDE that one value, they are not restricted to it.

I tried changing it to Build Configuration MATCHES *desiredvalue*. That actually does work, though it turns out I have build configuration names that are substrings of each other, so I will have to change that behaviour to be able to have filters that work with that setup for all of them.

      Thanks.

You can also use the "Match Pattern" to search for a part of the build configuration name which is unique.
