  • How to check if a windows feature is installed e.g. IIS

    Hi,

I'm currently updating some of our installers. We have a new requirement to check / test if the Windows feature, Internet Information Services (IIS), has been installed.

What's the best way to do this? Is there an action command we could use?

You can search the computer registry for the key which is created when IIS is installed/enabled. There is no custom action built into Setup Factory to check specifically for this feature.
The key you should look for is HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp.

      Thanks for your reply Ulrich.

In the end I found the Service.Query() action and used it check to if the IIS service was available.
